Boundary multi-trace deformations and OPEs in AdS/CFT correspondence
We argue that multi-trace deformations of the boundary CFT in AdS/CFT correspondence can arise through the OPE of single-trace operators. We work out the example of a scalar field in AdS5 with cubic self interaction. By an appropriate reparametrization of the boundary data we are able to deform the boundary CFT by a marginal operator that couples to the conformal anomaly. Our method can be used...
متن کاملA Review of Integrable Deformations in Ads/cft
Marginal β deformations of N = 4 super-Yang-Mills theory are known to correspond to a certain class of deformations of the S background subspace of type IIB string theory in AdS5 × S. An analogous set of deformations of the AdS5 subspace is reviewed here. String energy spectra computed in the near-pp-wave limit of these backgrounds match predictions encoded by discrete, asymptotic Bethe equatio...
متن کاملJordanian deformations of the AdS 5 × S 5 superstring
We consider Jordanian deformations of the AdS5×S 5 superstring action. These deformations correspond to non-standard q-deformations. In particular, it is possible to perform a partial deformation, for example, of the AdS5 part only, or of the S 5 part only. Then the classical action and the Lax pair are constructed with a linear, twisted and extended R operator. It is shown that the action pres...
متن کاملD-Brane Potentials from Multi-Trace Deformations in AdS/CFT
It is known that certain AdS boundary conditions allow smooth initial data to evolve into a big crunch. To study this type of cosmological singularity, one can use the dual quantum field theory, where the non-standard boundary conditions are reflected by the presence of a multi-trace potential unbounded below. For specific AdS4 and AdS5 models, we provide a D-brane (or M-brane) interpretation o...
متن کاملA Note on Multi-trace Deformations and AdS/CFT
We derive the general formula, at a finite cutoff, for the change in the boundary condition of a scalar field in AdS under a Multiple-trace deformation of the dual CFT. Our analysis suggests that fluctuations around the classical solution in AdS should not be constrained by boundary conditions.
